My name is Matthew Gervasi, Chef and Owner of Contemporary Gourmet. My experience in the food service industry spans 11+ years. I attended the Florida Culinary Institute increasing my knowledge in the culinary arts field and honing my skills and techniques in food preparation. In college, I majored in Business Administration. I have thorough training and certification in sanitation and safe food handling and nutrition.
I am passionate about food and enjoy cooking and baking. I learned the fundamentals as a line and prep cook working in restaurants in New York, Boston and Florida while attending school and college. I further developed my culinary skills while working with professional caterers and chefs in various restaurants and through frequent entertaining of family and friends. I continue to refine and improve my culinary knowledge through culinary education courses and product development in the kitchen.
I established Contemporary Gourmet in Palm Beach County in the Spring of 2007 after graduating from the Florida Culinary Institute. Since then, I have worked with a diverse range of clients, young families, empty-nesters, professionals and many others providing services and a wide range of food and entree choices from hor d’oeuvres, ethnic food, special diet meals, organic preparations, local seafood dishes and desserts.
